Jamaica Volleyball Association Gears up for Elections

The Jamaica Volleyball Association is getting its members and affiliates ready as it gets set for the 2011 Annual General Meeting scheduled for October 1. This being a voting AGM, the association has sent out a memo to its members in an effort to ensure that as many of them as possible clear up outstanding financial matters which will render them eligible to vote at the gathering. The contents of the memo are detailed below.

To be eligible to vote at the annual general meeting of the Jamaica Volleyball Association each affiliate/ ordinary member must have paid the annual fee or any other fee stipulated in the By-laws of the Ja.V.A.
These fees have been determined to be the Affiliation fees for the financial year November 1, 2010 to October 31, 2011 and all fees relating to prior years.

As at September 12, 2011 the following affiliates/ ordinary members are eligible to vote at the annual general meeting to be held on October 1, 2011.

2. G.C. Foster Volleyball Club
3. JDF Volleyball Club
4. Jamaica Volleyball Referees Association
5. Titans Volleyball Club
6. UWI Volleyball Club

Other affiliates/ ordinary members may obtain eligibility status by paying the required fees on or before September 30, 2011. Payments may be deposited directly to NCB, New Kingston Branch, account number 35-185-7501 and the supporting documents e-mailed to javasecretariat@gmail.com.

Please note that no payments will be accepted on the date of the AGM.

The current JaVA elected Executive consists of President Major Warrenton Dixon, Secretary, Lawrence Nelson and Treasurer Tamika Pennicott. The elected members are complemented by a cadre of Managers, appointed to oversee various aspects of the sport’s development.
