    The stars shared the sprint titles and fastest times this year for the sprints at the 13th I.A.A.F World Athletics Championships in Daegu, South Korea earlier this month, with Blake winning the 100 and bolt the 200 metres. Blazing Bolt clocked 9.76 seconds at Friday’s Diamond League meet in Brussels, Belgium, the same meet where Blake, interestingly known as “The Beast” posted the second fastest 200 metre time ever, 19.26 seconds.

Ottey, fifty-one, clocked 11.92 seconds for 3rd in the women’s 100m ‘B’ race behind British winner Montell Douglas 11.65. France’s Christine Arron, thirty-eight, was 2nd in 11.76 seconds

    Notable absentee from the team is Crisdale Mcarthy who is ranked 4th in the 100m hurdles. She is the Carifta Under-20 Champion and also won at the Junior Trials. Megan Simmonds also did not make the cut. She is ranked third in the world this year and she finished second at the trials. She was also 4th at the Youth Olympics last year.
